Our Preferred US-Based Vendors

This year, we made a commitment to evaluate the business practices of the vendors we partner with and recommend to our clients, and to develop relationships with vendors that align with our mission and values.

Sustainability, social responsibility, and wellness in design are three pillars that matter deeply to us, as well as our clients. As we also love to support small businesses, woman-owned businesses, and companies based in the USA, we are shining a spotlight on our preferred vendors that share these qualities.

Hartmann & Forbes

One of our favorite vendors to work with is Hartmann & Forbes. This company embodies the meaning of social and environmental consciousness with a deep commitment to sustainability in their manufacturing and shipping practices. They are known for handwoven designs using only natural, renewable materials.

We’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with the Hartmann & Forbes team on several complicated, large-scale projects involving motorization and home automation. The smooth installation of these projects is due to the level of organization and programming addressed during the design phase with their team.

The founder, Michael Jones, believes in using the natural world to design our interior worlds that inspire relaxation, self-reflection, and connection. It is no surprise that they are one of our preferred vendors.

MOTORIZED WOVEN WOOD SHADES FROM HARTMANN & FORBES. THEIR LEVEL OF SERVICE FOR AUTOMATION SUPPORT IS UNPARALLELED.

The ability to customize these woven wood shades is unlimited. Their Spring/Summer 2024 collection is stunning, blending ancient stories with modern elegance through a collaboration with the curator of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and renowned designers Michael A. Smith and Max Humphrey.

The collaboration with the Museum pays homage to the natural material and designs inherent to the Hopi, Yurok, Diné (Navajo), and Pueblo peoples. To learn more about Hartmann & Forbes or their 2024 collection visit their website

Solé Shades

I was introduced to Solé Shades at this year’s IWCE in Dallas. A woman-owned, small business based in the USA, I was impressed with Creative Director Pegah Grossi’s, story. She grew up in the cotton textile mills and founded the company 20 years ago with her mother, Ferdas.

They are one of the few vendors that offer wide-width shades for large windows. After building her collections, Pegah noticed a need for start-to-finish customization and acquired Pacifica Iron. This allowed her to design artisan hardware and powder coating in-house, which further established the brand as a single destination for window coverings.

Offering high-end textiles and bespoke details, this is a vendor we are very much looking forward to collaborating with on our projects. For more information about Solé Shades, their story, and products, visit their website.

Le Fer Forgé Drapery Hardware

Le Fer Forgé Drapery Hardware is high quality, custom-made to order, and based in the USA.

They are a great resource for challenging and arched windows, with beautifully designed bent poles. The variety of finishes suits any project, from interiors, to exteriors, to boutique hospitality needs.

Le Fer Forgé demonstrates a dedication to creative, solution-based thinking and values creativity and providing an exceptional experience. We’re looking forward to working with this brand.
